Goings on .....

It's a busy time on the allotment.
I have been weeding, sowing, planting and watering:
Sowing vegetable seeds - Swiss chard 'Pink Passion', radish 'Sparkler' and beetroot 'Sanguina'.
Sowing flower seeds - Nigella, Zinnia and Ammi Majus.
Planting out climbing beans 'Trail of Tears', summer squash patty pan
'Pattison Blanc' and winter squash 'Hokkaido'.
Watering the peas which were planted earlier in the year and weeding - always weeding!

But despite all the hard work, there is not a lot to harvest yet. It is the so called 'hungry gap'.
So instead, here are some flowers -
A jam jar posy of herbs, wild flowers and cuttings from the allotment.

And on the kitchen windowsill an old teapot with pot marigolds and Marguerite daisies from the garden.

Meanwhile, I am still busy writing for local magazine Nene Living.
Here is my column for April and for May.
If you wish, you can read more by googling Nene Living Magazine.

Wishing you a good week.
