Autumn days and dark nights..

The clocks have changed and the days are getting shorter, but there are still plenty of opportunities to get out and about in the great outdoors.
This was on a visit to Fineshade Woods the other day.
The forest was resplendent in the autumn sunshine.

Shorter days mean darker evenings.
Now, I don't know about you, but I love cosying up in the evenings, with a few candles, a warm blanket and maybe a mug of hot chocolate.

Tomorrow is Bonfire Night, a welcome celebration of light as the nights grow darker.
Will you be celebrating?
Should you want some ideas for last minute treats to share around the bonfire, including these quick and easy toffee apples, recipes can be found in the latest edition of Nene Living magazine, which is also packed with interesting articles and information about the local area.
If you live near Peterborough or Oundle,  the magazine can be picked up free in various locations, alternatively, it can be read online here.
Scroll through to page 27 to see my article on food for Firework Night.

I hope you are enjoying these autumn days and nights.

  1. The local fire was cancelled on Saturday due to the winds so is planned for this evening. Seven years ago today our eldest Grandson was born so we now call it Bertie day so always make a fuss and celebrate.
